Color in a Home







I have adored this home ever since I saw it in House Beautiful awhile back. I am sure you have seen it around before, but I really cannot get over the wonderful use of color. I love how it all feels very light and serene even with the use of some dark color. Now if only I could pull a look like this off in my own home.

    Those blue striped chairs are so bold - I love color in a room. Especially when it really stands out like in that yellow room with the seahorses. Wow.

    That painting in the first picture is so gorgeous on that wall of white and I'm pretty much in love with that quilt in the last room. So pretty with the pale walls. Great images! Thanks!

    You know what is so weird? Just last night I was thinking how I am loving yellow and white stripes, and I was going to start getting a post together about it. The room you showed will definitely be included!

    Did you notice how they broke up the pair to the fabulous blue lamps using one in the living room with the striped chairs and the other in the bedroom with that fabulous quilt. It's a great reminder that just because it comes in a set, doesn't mean it needs to be used as a set.

    I have never seen this house before...and I must admit I have fallen in love. So soft with the white but then the bright colors punch up the rooms. I would love to do something like this for my bedroom. Thanks for sharing.

    That bathroom would be a delight to wake up to. (I must save this pic. for my next bathroom!)

    I love some of these details, such as the large shell placed at the base of the fireplace, the bold and fresh white moulding paired with the striking military blue wall, and that dining room? I'll take it, with a great cup of coffee and and some Belgium waffles!
