I really don't do much color in my home. I stick to neutrals with a few pops of color. Our first home was very bold in the color department and now I love to look, but not live with that amount of color. I did come across this home and rather liked the vibrancy of it all. I think the white helps and the lady with the bike makes it all the better. It's in stark contrast with the home I posted last week, but I rather like them both. Are you all about the color or are neutrals more your thing? Just curious.

Wow, I'm loving the use of colors in this home! Especially the yellow in the kitchen.. an instant mood brightener! And the green wall is a nice splash of color as well. Like you, I mainly stick to neutrals and use color merely as an accent, but these are really inspirational.
ReplyDeleteI definitely do color, but it's key not to overload on color. The rule I usually follow is if the furniture is fairly neutral, it's ok to put a more bold color on the walls, but if you've got furniture or accent pieces that are quiet colorful, the walls should be more neutral. It's all a question of balance and personal taste, but I love the way colors can make a home feel more warm and inviting when done right.
ReplyDeletelittle bits of color....
ReplyDeletejust perfect.
xo
I am all about color! you can ck out my blog to see pics...My dining room is red. :)
ReplyDeleteThird picture. Chair. Spot of greasy head on it. YUK!! Dang, that looks BAD!
ReplyDeleteThe rest is quite neat.
color, color, color...but you already know that about me. I am in love with so many of those photos. that kids room with the angled green cabinet and chalkboard is amazing! XO
ReplyDeleteJust commenting on an old post... :) the onesies are adorable!
ReplyDeleteI like me some color...a little bit in every room.
ReplyDeleteI love pops of color with a neutral base so you can switch out the "pops" if you tire of them. I do love the yellow kitchen though - that's all pop!
ReplyDeleteI like the yellow kitchen...
ReplyDeleteWhen my husband and I first started decorating parts of our house we went with a lot of neutrals since they are "safe." Big mistake. Our living room is a disaster and is way too drab. I used to be afraid of using strong colors in the home, but it's just a matter of balance and preference.
ReplyDeleteI like color and warmth because I never want my company to feel as they were anyplace besides home.
ReplyDeleteone day it's color--and the next it's neutrals. (helpful, i know.)
ReplyDeleteI really love those white stairs with the red runner. Perfect for me!
ReplyDeleteHow fun are those yellow cabinets?
ReplyDeleteToo many years in bland, white apartments! I need color and lots of it...
ReplyDeleteLately we've been all about painting deep colors on the walls. We started with dark burgundy in the living room, peanut butter in the bedroom, and now I want medium-to-dark walls in every room. White walls just don't look right to me anymore.
ReplyDeleteThey did a great job of intergrating the Neutrals with small bursts of bright colors, looks great. I'm looking foward to decorating my own home.
ReplyDeleteI do love a pop of color. Those yellow cabinets are so fun.
ReplyDeletethe pop of bright colours are gorgeous!
ReplyDeletetotally depends on my mood - sometimes colour, sometimes neutral. i compromise with little pops of colour amongst neutrals - i'd love to have an all-white place at some point but would likely spill a big ole glass of red wine on it the first day i moved in.
ReplyDelete(speaking of red, LOVE that red runner on the staircase shot up there!)
My house is the beige-est on the block. A bright, colorful room in print really gets me going, but I can't come home to it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful inspiration! I like the frames hanging on the wall. I think I'm more of a neutral person but I like little pops of colour here and there.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I have an award on my blog for you =) Have a gorgeous weekend.
Honestly, it changes daily!:) So I go for a neutral big pieces and walls with bright accents.
ReplyDeleteThis home is stunning! I like to think I go for color (and I do love color) but I usually end up with neutrals. That said, I'm trying to add more brights into my house...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous... I love the yellows in the kitchen and the splash of red in the stairs.
ReplyDeletei really like the white hall with the red carpet going up the stairs. and the wood in the bathroom.thanks.xxx
ReplyDeleteAs you've seen in my house- I'm a neutral girl!
ReplyDeleteAnd that's my biggest dilemma - color or neutral? My house is primarily white and neutral but that's not because I don't like color. In fact, I love it and these are such great examples of how color can be used so beautifully in the home. I don't think I'll ever resolve this one!
ReplyDeleteSo many rentals with white walls...now, COLOR!! :)
