A Few of my Favorite Things

Fancy me.

Love this dress from Bellebas found on etsy.

A pretty much want this. {Hubby this would make an amazing stocking stuffer, just sayin}

These shoe clips sure could dress up any pair of shoes.

I rather like this pretty neckline.

This fabric sings to me.

While I was at the beach I received a year book type award for best looking blog. I was among some of the best blogs out there, needless to say I was flattered. Thank you Sidney for including me, it was almost as good as getting Miss Hayden High School, ha! Oh yes, you heard me right I was a pageant girl.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend. Today I am volunteering at Ellie's preschool for the first time, yippee!

Feeling Industrial

Remodelista featured a "steal this look: the entry" for this modern farmhouse. I love the industrial elements and wanted to see more. After seeing snippets of the indoor space I decided to share it all with you. What I love is the neutral palette with splashes of green. Bringing this gorgeous garden in is simply stunning. All the raw wood, metal, and classic lines keeps this home from feeling country and I am in love. If you too feel the love then it can be purchased for a mere price tag.

Inspire Me

I was super excited and inspired when I I saw Blair's post yesterday. She makes some of the most fabulous inspiration boards and this board happened to be inspired by the brides shoes in a recent wedding the hubby and I shot. Isn't it stunning?

Keeping It Green DIY

Although fall is my favorite season it does make me sad to see my garden fade. Most of the front garden is evergreen, but the porch which normally houses a few pots of flowers was looking bare. This time around I wanted something that would last and that was easy to manage. I really just did not want to have to think about it too much, so instead of flowers I used reindeer moss that had been dyed a bright green. I bought it from a local garden shop and could not be more pleased with the outcome.

Creating this look was super easy. I simply hot glued the moss to a half round circle that I picked up at JoAnn Fabrics. The circle fit perfectly into the mouth of my pot and stays there quite nicely. Ugly on the bottom...

Fabulous on the top...

A little color in the garden could not make me any happier.

A Wedding in Details

Recently my husband and I got to shoot a wedding that I fell head over heels for so I thought I would share. The bride and grooms style is more on the vintage side and she had an eye for detail. The whole affair was laid back and truly fun. Here is the gorgeous bride and her groom...

The setting of the wedding was at a vineyard...

Driving to the site was made easy with these rustic and charming signs...

The shoes, flowers, and hairpiece were perfection. Isn't she lovely?

The bridesmaids were all family and they each wore a different dress from Anthropologie.

Down the hill from the wedding site was a pumpkin patch which the bride was not thrilled with, but she humored us anyway and they posed with a pumpkin. I just love an easy going bride!

They had this lattice set up with old family photos. Such a sweet and loving detail. It also made for some extra laughs when we saw some of the old wedding gowns, ha!

They had a table and quilt set up for taking Polaroids during the reception. The chalkboard message boards and the book just made it even more special. Talk about something you will treasure forever.

Birds were a reoccurring theme throughout. Oh, and this cake topper, what can I say, it had me at hello. All the milk glass wasn't too shabby either.

As the sun set and the lights came on, well, it made for a wonderful evening.

Feeling Like Home

Since this will be a month of DIY projects here on Two Ellie then I only thought it be fitting to feature a DIY queen herself, Kristan Cunningham of HGTV. It seems the home is a rental so they did not want to invest a lot of money. For example her and her husband revamped the kitchen for under $1,000, looks fabulous to me. I love how it looks as if it all has come together over time. I enjoy seeing the wood piled up on the floor, although my children would see it as their own personal playground. Oh, and that rug I have been eying ever since seeing it in this local bloggers home. It would go lovely in my new room makeover, hmm.
