We finally figured out how to use our gas fireplace thanks to this lovely lady and her husband. We have used it a few times since, but have heard in order to keep it running the gas bill adds up quick. I rather like this idea of piling it up with wood. Very homey feeling and pretty.

I LOVE an open fireplace, we had one in our old home. But I also do love the look of the stacks of wood. Perfect idea if your climate doesn't call for fires
ReplyDeletethis is simply beautiful.
ReplyDeletevery cool!! (or cozy, I should say :)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. We have a useless fireplace so I love ideas to make it appealing.
ReplyDeleteNice contrasts--and I want that coffee table, too!
ReplyDeleteA warm fire is always nice to curl up to!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful AND practical :)
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing prettier than a pile of logs is there?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous xx
It looks great doesn't it. We have an open fire - so lovely on these chilly Feb days. There is a wood storage space underneath and the logs always look nice piled up. We mostly have our fires at the weekend when we are all home cosying up together and relaxing with a movie.
ReplyDeleteI love to "decorate" with firewood...it's so utilitarian and primal to me. The colour is perfect of birch logs for white interiors.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Michelle
Oh, it really does run up the gas bill. Ouch. Wish we had this fireplace!
ReplyDeletelovely Paula! I really love white with natural wood!
ReplyDeleteoooh! I just love the frame around the fireplace. I also love white with natural wood. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove this! Rustic but elegant!
ReplyDeleteSTUNNING, I love this!
ReplyDeleteI adore this image. Clean and warm at the same time.
ReplyDeletelove that look. I have been meaning to go out and buy some birch logs all winter. Our fireplace is not in working condition:(
ReplyDeleteThat IS pretty! I finally bought a screen and the tools for the fireplace last month. I've lived in my house for almost 3 years, and still haven't used it once! Today would be a perfect day to light it up. We're having a snowstorm here in Chicago. Brr...
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, we have gas fireplace too, but it adds up quick! Love this idea, very chic!!!
ReplyDeleteA fireplace is so cozy though. I love it when on - but can understand the gas bill pain.
ReplyDeleteI love a fireplace with a fire or without. There is something homey about them. The wood piled inside looks neat. xo
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of the wood piled in the fireplace! It really adds warmth to the neutral space!
ReplyDeleteand i love the repeating pattern. very rustic but sophisticated at the same time
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty! I would do the same if I had a fireplace.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Paula! I was just commenting on some photos over at Bliss, saying that stacked wood in white fireplaces is one of my all time favorite things! So beautiful! xo
ReplyDeleteI can hear the crackling of the wood looking at that gorgeous fireplace. love it. glad to hear yours is working. I love to warm up my bedroom before bed with a good fire, sadly though, mine is gas.

ReplyDeleteHi, I left an award for you on my blog.
ReplyDeleteYou probably won't believe me, but I woke up thinking about doing this to ours. Yes, I wake up thinking design/house junk, doesn't everybody?! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm just not 100% sure yet...so I was very happy to see this post!
I like it with the wood! - and yes, it ain't cheap to keep it running. But it feels so cozy you almost can't help yourself.
ReplyDeletewhere did you find your blog layout? love it!

Love this idea! I totally want to do it - it'd be a lovely way to dry wood during the summer(and keep the cats out from trying to climb up and out the chimney...)
ReplyDeleteI tried this... it was fun.... it didn't look quite as prety as this but i loved it!!! Show us pic if you do it!
ReplyDeleteeither way, i love a fireplace!
