Just Lovely

I absolutely love a pretty kitchen. Really, who doesn't? I do seem to have a slight obsession though with a certain look and yesterday I came across an image that I can not stop thinking about. The image I found was over on Jennifer's blog of the Newlywed Diaries. It actually is her room inspiration for a tag I sent her way yesterday.

I love the different textures and the soothing colors, sigh*. I then continued to explore the creative genius behind this lovely space and found some more yumminess.

Oh how these spaces make me swoon. That last photo may be my favorite though. Again with the color, the backsplash, the apron front sink, the three tiered baskets, all the cookbooks, I really could go on a on. I also love that tiny island. Our kitchen is about that size and I am thinking something like that may be nice, maybe on casters even. it would make it harder for the tricycle my daughter likes to ride around, but with the warmer weather she could just head outside. I also really love the glass front cabinets on either side of the stove. I wonder how hard that would be? Oh, I better stop now or this could become a whole renovation in our only 2 year old kitchen.

I have an obsession with tearing out pictures of inspiration kitchens. My dream kitchen has white subway tile backsplash and white, shaker-style cabinets... So your pictures are making me swoon too!

I do love this kitchen - most times I find that much white to be overwhelming, but they've done such a beautiful job here. I am in love with those farmer's sinks... I so wish I could have one.

And I think that if you have room for an island, you should do it! Casters are a great idea for tricycle riding (that's one of the requirements in my house too - room for riding toys!).

Those are really lovely kitchens. It makes me dread going downstairs and facing my "college kitchen" :)

thanks for the link :)

I've thought about making a little island like that too. Can't be that hard, can it? I bet you could find a little piece of stone at Southeaster Salvage that would fit something that size, too.

there were some cabinet doors with glass in them in my mom's old kitchen. the previous owner just cut out the middle of the door and attached a piece of glass on the inside with little brackets. I'm sure there are several ways to do it, especially depending on what your doors look like. it'd be a fun project!

That kitchen is definitely what I would like my future kitchen to look like. I think I will need to add these images to my inspiration folder.

These images encapsulate my dream kitchen too, from the subway tiles to the Belfast style sink to the shaker style cabinets to the open shelves to the whiteness of it all!! Nearly finished ours and looking forward to revealing all soon. Thanks for sharing these inspirational photos Paula.
