Book Club: chapter 4

One of the tasks in the Artist's Way this past week was to find your ideal environment. I knew immediately it would be on the beach. This image says it all. A pretty dress on a lonely beach. Just add my husband and babies and I would be in paradise. As for my artist's date, it consisted of going to the garden shop and seeing and smelling all the beauty around me, then later sinking my hands into the soil, sheer bliss. How did your week go? I found myself skipping a couple days of morning pages, oops.

This week we read chapter 5, yeah!

Good week for me... Morning pages were great, I completed five (only skipped the weekends) and felt that I benefitted from them as well - which is the point, right? No artist date yet, I can hardly believe I haven't even done one yet! Then again I do have two toddlers... that could have something to do with it! I did let the creative juices flow more this week as well, so all in all, a success I will say!

Gardening is such a great artist's date... sounds fun!

I spent some time at the garden center this weekend as well. Nice spot to get away to, isn't it? But this morning your deserted beach looks like my perfect destination.

I'm still on chapter 3... I do find that the days that I complete my morning pages that I'm in a better frame of mind creatively, as well as just all around.

I did do my Artist's Date and perused a few shops to... paper supply, Michael's, and World Market. It was inspiring to see all the colors and the way they are being put together in preparation for summer.

The beach would definitely be my ideal environment as well - it's so peaceful, and beautiful...and nothing smells quite so good as ocean air :)

Oh I could spend the rest of my life on a beach... just add the husband and kids and it would be paradise (and maybe a nanny that came once a week so we could go on a weekly date night!).

I've fallen off the wagon with the morning pages, I had been doing so well and then... well, not so great. I'm having a hard time finding the benefit in them. Maybe I'm not doing them right. I don't know. Are you finding them helpful?

I love to journal and this has gotten me back into it on the daily aspect :) and I love how instead of just my daily ramblings I get to throw in some dream/fantasy things with the task from the book :) I looove this book I think I'll be reading it again and again :) u?

wow that photo is fantastic! I want to go straight back to the beach with a fun dress. Though I'd be barefoot, no heels.
