Shopping Hiatus {2} + Sneak Peek

The hiatus is still going fairly well. I sold some of my maternity clothes and bought a pot and two lanterns for outside along with some fabric and patterns. Eventually I am going to be out of things to sell and shopping will be out completely. My sister and I headed out to a few shops last night to just look. Well, that was a dumb idea I found a few things I just loved, but I managed to walk away. It was somewhat of a tease. I think I just need to stay out of the shops. On the plus side I have been able to shop vicariously through a friend who's home I am decorating. We finally got the plates up on the wall last night and picked final paint colors for the office along with buying a few odds and ends. It's all coming along nicely and I can't wait to share more. I just love seeing it all come together. How is your hiatus coming along?

Love all the eclectic patterns on those plates. I don't think I will ever tire of a lovely vignette composed with interesting plates. Excited to see another reveal!

As for the hiatus, I'm pretty much practicing the- just don't go shopping- approach. Although we are headed to NYC and DC soon and I'm really trying to be thoughtful regarding any vacation purchases we make.

Lovely!! I really like the way you've hung them! When you're done with this friends house, can I steal you for our bedroom??

The shopping hiatus is non-existent for me right now as far as the home goes. But I'm very proud of my non-spending on clothing items!!

The plates look great and I love the chandelier! Also, I am curious to see more of the fabric peeking out at the bottom of the picture.

Love the plates on the wall... they look great.

Hiatus is going well. Haven't really bought anything- except a pattern from etsy and fabric from the smockingbird. I had to find something to keep me at home last weekend and out of the stores!!

love the grouping of plates on the wall! would love to do that in my space, but that'd require many plate purchases.

I know it's a double edge sword...one way it is so therapeutic to just window shop or hunt for those treasures but then when you find something you really like when you are not supposed to be spending money than it makes you want it even more.

At this point it is too hard for me just to stay out of the stores but I usually have pretty good will power (except for last night).

Love your plates and that table cloth too. So you know how to sew? That is on my to do list in 3 years. Sewing is kind of a lost art.
