Shopping Hiatus {2}

I woke up and wanted a new dress. Do you have days like that? Just to have the desire to slip into something fresh and new. To slip into something that makes you feel like a better version of yourself even if it only lasts a minute. What did I do you may wonder, well, I went to my closet and pulled out this dress that I bought when I was 9 months pregnant and having those same feelings. That was over 2 years ago and I may have worn it once. Now I can officially say I have worn it twice. I am thinking of dyeing it a new color. Oh, and did you notice my somewhat of a new haircut. It's the first time since high school that I am embracing my curls. The calves are new too. They are from running almost every day. I seem to be embracing more of who I am as I inch my way towards 30. I think I like her.

oh! i think the dress is beautiful! but if a dye job would help it to feel new again, i say dye away!

Beautiful dress! And I agree - I think that as you get older, you accept yourself more and that's when you really appreciate everything that makes you unique.

Love the dress! I'm also a curly girl armed with a great hair straightner!

It sounds like you are doing a quite a bit of growing/changing/evolving is some really neat ways. And you look great! (I'm wearing my hair curly/wavey today for the first time in a long while and I'm not sure I can embrace it... It's so much easier though!)

Love the dress - my daughter just bought a bunch of V neck T shirts and dyed them different colors. I was skeptical, but they are really cute for spring and summer. You should dye the dress - you would be so pretty in color. You are already pretty - and great legs. I sound like a weird stalker - sorry. I actually just clicked over from "Blueprint Bliss". I had better shut up now - I am scaring myself! Great blog!

there's nothing quite as special as finding a dress that makes you feel pretty, uninhibited and girly so i definitely get it.

You look great - and so impressed with the running (one thing I just can't seem to do very well!). I think the 30s are a better version of your 20s... you feel more in charge and know who you are...

Love the dress... what color would you dye it? You'll have to post some pics if you do, I'd love to see them!

I love that dress it's really cute :) and I did notice the new hair and I said to eric...paula never wears her hair curly. I like it curly she should do that more often :)...and as for the running! I'm so proud! do you love it? how much are you doing and when do you get to do it? and as for inching towards thirty since my number still rounds down to 20 I havent yet gotten that feeling...but eric just had a bday and he is rounding up to 30 so yea...he understands...he went to the gym he said that helped..he felt more young afterwards

Beautiful Dress Paula! I love the idea of dyeing it and the first color that came to mind was light gray? (although for summer you may want more of a pop?) I'm with Aimee..before I read your post I was admiring the pretty calves. I need to start running..now!

Paula, you are so naturally pretty! I envy your beautiful hair, and am happy you are embracing your curls...I totally understand what you mean about the new dress and the feeling of something new and feminine. I had one of those days as well a few weeks back and ended up finding a very French dress with a bold print and full skirt - makes me feel pretty and reminiscent every time I put it on :)

Your dress is lovely! I like the details...I've never tried dying anything before, but I can somehow picture it in a very soft pink or blue - pretty with your skin tone and hair...

I like her too! Beautiful dress and love the curls! Whenever I need new clothes I do my laundry and usually I feel better but I like the idea of changing up a dress you already have to make yourself feel like you have something new. Great post!

good for you! actually, GREAT for you! sometimes you do just want something new, and how smart to think of changing the color of something you already own. And good for you for running everyday, I need to follow your lead...

Paula, I love your blog! And your dress, very cute curls and your toned legs. I really need to start running more. So proud of you running every day. Hope to see you soon!

Embrace the curls! I'm actually considering a perm. *gasp* Did I even say the word?! My hair is stick straight and what I would give for some LIFE that didn't come in a bottle and via blow dryer with my head hung upside down only to have it lying flat again by the time I make it out the door.

I turn 31 in 4 weeks. So far, being in my thirties is lovely!

I love your hair cut. I have naturally curly/wavy hair and go in and out of embracing it. Your calves have inspired me to step away from the computer and go take a walk {at least}...perhaps I'll even build up to a run. :) {Love your home in the background btw}
