A Shotgun Home

This home is a mere 16x80 foot. It's based off the floor plan of shotgun homes. I adore the simple layout huge doors and especially the simple white facade. The floors are reclaimed old-growth pine and red oak flooring. This home is perfect for someone who doesn't need or want any extra's I think that is why it appeals to me today. Living simply now that's an idea for me to ponder. Although my children may be quite sad not to have any room for toys.

Love absolutely everything, EVERYTHING, about this home. The exterior is precious and the interior is just plain smart!

P.S.- the new look suites you to a "T"...did you do it all yourself?

It is quite nice. I am always very interested when I see these homes on HGTV. They've done this one so nicely. The kids could always just run laps through and around the house for fun...

Your blog looks so nice! Love the colors!

I love the tall walls and they way they made the space feel shorter in the kitchen. Very cool architecture. Thanks for stopping by my new blog. :)

I've seen a few interviews of people who have sold everything for a smaller house with a simpler life and they all seemed very happy. I think you just learn to adjust with a small space and plus it helps to not collect so much stuff.

There is something to be said about simplicity.

As for today, I would also love a toy-free, small home like that. Perfection!

At least for today. ;o)

I've seen homes like this on TV before, and they are still quite amazing. I think it must not be too different than living in a one-bedroom apartment, no? Deep down I would really like to be this free of material possessions, but I honestly wonder if I could do it.
