I am a wife to the most wonderful man, I am a mother of two fabulous kiddos, I love to garden, read, decorate, and the idea of cooking is growing on me. This is my daily journal of inspiration in which I hope serves as a space where others can get inspired through real life. It is where I share spaces I love, dabble in fashion, food and of course my family all in hopes that people can find the beauty in the rather ordinary.
Ellie started preschool today, so I will resume full posting tomorrow while my heart breaks for the rest of the day. Hope you all had a lovely weekend.
Today?? Oh, I know how hard it is! If you're like me you headed straight out the car to cry and then call your best girlfriend. Hope your day goes better (each day gets a little easier... I promise!).
Oh my. I will keep your heart in my thoughts all day. I can only imagine what that feels like and how you're never really ready. Did you make her skirt? Seriously, so cute.
My son starts Kindergarten this September and I've been sighing over his baby album for the past few weeks. I love the skirt your daughter is wearing - perfect for the first day of school!
I hope you're day is getting better and that she cheers you up when she gets home! But she does look adorable in that picture. What could be more perfect for her first day than that skirt?! Adorable!
last year my son started preschool and i felt weak every time i would say bye bye to him. I think it's harder on us moms than it is for them. She will love it...and you will love that you can do so much in the meantime.
Oh, I'm aching with you. It's so hard. We just went to pick out a backpack and lunchbox today. Next week is meet the teacher and then 1st grade. Sniff. Hope Ellie had an awesome day and that you and your little guy had a good time together. (Love her skirt!)

awww she looks darling. i made it easy for my mom...she never had to leave me there. i stayed glued to her leg like you wouldn't believe. only-child syndrome, much? xo
I hate to say it, but it never gets easier. Each year you wonder why they have to grow up soooo fast and yes, your heart breaks just a bit each time. The up side is getting to hear all about their day--some priceless moments and chats are in your future. Enjoy those. :)
how adorable! your little girl is so beautiful. i see you've also been inspired by katiedid? i have the moda fabric all ready for a similar skirt when my daughter is old enough!! only she can't wear to school as we have uniforms here.. bugger!

Hi Paula,
I can't imagine how you are feeling. So exciting but sad at the same time. She does look so cute though!!!!
Mine too, heart breaking, that is. And my two are in fourth and second grade. You'd think I was over it by now.
I hope she has a wonderful day. I bet she'll be all smiles and full of stories when she comes home!
And that skirt...too cute for words, really!

My little girl started last week and I didn't make it back to the car before I started sobbing. It's so much harder on mommies. I am thinking of you.
And, I'll add my raves about the skirt...It is adorable!

Awwwwwwwwwww. I'm sorry mama. But you dressed her awful pretty. The little man is on the verge of walking and that's killing me!
aw, what a sweet first day of school outfit. :)
Her outfit is so adorable. I want a grown up version of her back pack!
She looks so lovely! I remember our first day, I was in such a peculiar state all day, I could not find my place and I was worried like hell.
cute skirt! :)
She looks ready for school and very confident (and her outfit is so cute!).
You will always cherish the memory of this day...even though it is bittersweet. Your daughter is beautiful! Every milestone is so precious.
I STILL vividly recall the first day of kindgergarten when Brooke wanted to ride the bus home! She was fiercely independent, even then.
awww she looks darling. i made it easy for my mom...she never had to leave me there. i stayed glued to her leg like you wouldn't believe. only-child syndrome, much? xo
aww how cute is she!
Sweet does not fully describe how cute this photo of little Ellie is! She is adorable and looks so age appropriate chic, I must say!
She will look back on this day with fond memories I bet :)
Her skirt is too cute, mine starts preschool next year and I just know I will be a basket case, my prayers are with you through this transition.
