Dufner Heighes

I came across a new to me blog, Flourish Design and Style. Her taste is just wonderful and I know she will become a daily read for me. Anyway I came across these two images on her blog. The room was done by Dufner Heighes and I think it is brilliant. What I love is the dark trim against the light walls, the island that looks like a piece of furniture, the none use up upper cabinets, the huge basket filled with wood, that leather chair, the simple mantel decor, so I could go on and on. What grabs your eye at first glance?

Oh, and I received a blog comment from anonymous stating...

"Your blog keeps getting better and better! Your older articles are not as good as
newer ones you have a lot more creativity and originality now keep it up!"

Um, thank you I think. You gave me a good laugh this morning and yes it is true I do feel as if the blog has gotten my creative juices flowing again.

That's a really funny comment. The blog is great...as has been. It is always exciting to regularly read a blog to watch it as it grows. That's what life is all about right? Keep up the good work!

Love the kitchen - and I am drooling over the island. Is that the same wingback chair in both images?

(P.S. I think your blog is consistently good.)

Rarely do I say this-especially about furniture, but I want the grey chair. Want it with a passion I cannot explain.

Maybe I can find a knock-off that's super cheap in Tokyo? Highly unlikely, still...a girl can dream.

As always, your blog is a dream to read. Thanks!

Lovely interiors. Thanks for the intro.

Funny comment!

I will let you know if they have the baskets in the PB store at the Summit...

Everything about that first shot just screams beautiful to me! There is some serious talent at that firm. Do a search for them on Houzz. Lots more eye candy!

As for your oddball Anon, he/she/it must be making the rounds about the net. I'v seen that comment, verbatim, on at least two other blogs. Not very original, anon. ;0)

Either way, your blog is great. As are you, Paula!

Gorgeous rooms. And great new blog! I love discovering new blogs. I don't nearly have enough time to read them all, but it's so nice when I have some down time and I can't get out in the real world to explore all these awesome sites.

hi paula - wanted to get back to you re. p90x. they have alternative exercises you can do without a pull up bar - you essentially use one of those band things tied to something (stair, door jam, etc.) so those 2 disks out of the 12 that have pullup/chin up routines there is the band alternative which would work for your husband.

Hi! About the comment you received. I actually read the exact same comment on another blog (that I've never read before, just came across it through a link). I remember thinking, "weird, because they didn't even leave a name."

Wonder if it's some kind of joke?

For what it's worth, I've always loved your blog and everything you write about!

Love your blog! Another blog I read got the exact same comment. I think it might be spam or something.

I got the same comment on my blog and rejected it because I assumed it was spam. I don't get many anonymous comments, though.

The rug and the leather chair just KILL me-- I love mustard and grey (in other people's houses. Our house is too dark to handle it without feeling cave like.) I say take the honey from that compliment and toss the sting away--- I do love your blog!

These rooms draw you in; the oversized legs on the island, the subtle color change of the vase, the glimpse into the yard, the spot of yellow on the mantel and the peak into the bright hallway. These rooms are sexy!

I'm not the anon commentor, but you guys are awsome and give us immense inspiration!

gorgeous images! will have to check out the blog!

Love those images. The rug in the bottom picture jumped out at me.. I wouldn't necessarily choose it to go in this gray room but it looks awesome! And the comment is hilarious. Atleast it's Anon- I always get random comments from someone at the erectile dysfunction center that clearly likes design. :)

What grabs my eye at first in general you mean? The flooring of a room and the lighting..dramatic chandeliers and nice rugs are up high on my list of 'loves'.

Hilerious anonymous comment, everybody's blogs get better with age..take it as a compliment not written to it's best ability!

That is SO funny - I got the exact same message! I would have thought it was a spammer, but it was anonymous!

Don't you love those backhanded compliments? I deal with them all of the time from my 11 year old.
