A New Lamp for the New Year
Before we left the beach I took one more look in Tracery to make sure there was not something I so desperately needed/wanted. Well, I came across the Edison Lamp that I have admired for some time. I bought it with no where to actually put it. Officially my lamp addiction has gone completely out of control. I still love it though and I will find a place for it surely. Anyway this leads me to my New Year resolutions of some sorts...
- This year I am going to learn how to cook. I hope well, at least for my husbands sake.
- I am going to put to good use our new spin bike after I get the full go ahead to work out again and no we did not spend that much of ours in case you are wondering.
- I will not buy a new lamp for a whole year, okay maybe 6 months. I must be realistic.
- I will finally do our backsplash in the kitchen.
- To be more cheerful when doing house work. I am hoping my new toy will help.
- As a couple we are going to try to grow our savings account which in turns means less spending. This lady inspires me greatly in this area.
- More one on one dates with the kiddos.
- To live more simply, which I started last year and flopped miserably towards the end of the year. {Which means I may be having sale sometime soon: home goods, children's clothing, my clothing, etc.}
I am sure this list will be added to, but for now this one works.

I like your list and a great one to follow.
I would like to do our backsplash too this year, but then that would mean for me a new counter, cabinets, sink, faucet... so I think I will tackle another project in my corner. Smile...
I also love the new Edison lamp. It is unique and I think worth the buy. Im sure you will find the perfect place. xo
Paula- great lamp. I can't wait to see where you put it. I have a small lamp obsession myself. I get it from my mom!
And your list is great. Sounds like we have a lot of the same goals for this year.
Oh, I have a Shark steamer... and it's great. Now I want the handheld one to clean cabinets, blinds, bathroom tile walls, etc.
One more thing- I'm still happy to help you with your backsplash. I'm serious.
LOVE the new lamp. I'm eyeing two lamps from Crate and Barrel, but I'm trying to be better about spending money. I have similar goals to yours.
Love that lamp. I am so jealous you have a spin bike. I wanted one for Christmas but my parents didn't think I would use it even though I so would!
Those are my favorite! I loved the similar ones in Lonny last month. And your resolutions sound very, very good. They are all very similar to my resolutions-- which hopefully won't get broken!
What a beautiful lamp. I'm sure you'll find the perfect place for it. I'm with you on the spending, I really need to cut down this year. Happy New Year!
Sounds like a good list to me. I am currently looking for a new lamp, love this one!
Happy 2010! Love the lamp! :)
Love the lamp, I would love to be fit and healthy by the end of this year too (if not sooner), fingers crossed!
What a cool lamp! Does it help any that I completely understand your lamp fetish...
Also i've seen light bulbs that look similar to those in your new lamp. Id the price isn't too steep I've thought about replacing them in one of my fixtures.
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas & New Year!

Fantastic lamp! I had to curb my lamp and chair spending....no where to put things. It seems you can relate to that problem too!
i'm ready for you to come over and give me direction on what to do with the rest of our place. i don't want to do a lot but i want it to feel like it's together so i feel like i'm together :) any openings?
great resolutions. i need to write mine out!
love the lamp.
what a cool lamp! i am in need of a backsplash as well so I can't wait to see what you do!
great resolutions and great lamp! i am in love with the live laugh love print from their shop that you posted a photo of the other day....
Love the lamp! You must show it in place. And cooking is on my list for the year as well!
Simplicity is definitely on my list too! My goal is to get rid of 5 things a day (taking one room at a time) until I truly only have things in my home that I either need or LOVE! Then, I'm going to sell it all in a garage sale and finally buy the dining room chairs I've been wanting for a year!! I think my closet is going to be the hardest part!
I'm also going to try the less spending...hopefully this time I will stick with it!!
Good luck in "sticking" with your goals/resolutions as well!

Great list! It can be hard to stop buying when you have a little obsession with a particular item. I hope this all goes well for you!
I too need to stop spending and learn how to cook more meals :)
Great lamp!
I love the idea of one on one dates with the kiddos. We've never done that, we always travel as one big group. But I think my boys would love some individual attention. Thanks for the inspiration!
did i hear you say cook?
just so you know..
i make kraft mac n cheese for the kids tonight...
but at least my home is clean;-)
xo
almost every single item would be on my agenda, too... those lamps look awesome, I can totally understand your addiction! Happy new year, Paula!
down to earth and realistic resolutions, good for you! I never make them as I never keep them, but I intend on this year being a healthier one with a better diet and exercise regime. Here's to our goals!
