A Fireplace
We finally figured out how to use our gas fireplace thanks to this lovely lady and her husband. We have used it a few times since, but have heard in order to keep it running the gas bill adds up quick. I rather like this idea of piling it up with wood. Very homey feeling and pretty.

I LOVE an open fireplace, we had one in our old home. But I also do love the look of the stacks of wood. Perfect idea if your climate doesn't call for fires
this is simply beautiful.
very cool!! (or cozy, I should say :)
Very pretty. We have a useless fireplace so I love ideas to make it appealing.
Nice contrasts--and I want that coffee table, too!
A warm fire is always nice to curl up to!
Beautiful AND practical :)
There is nothing prettier than a pile of logs is there?
Gorgeous xx
It looks great doesn't it. We have an open fire - so lovely on these chilly Feb days. There is a wood storage space underneath and the logs always look nice piled up. We mostly have our fires at the weekend when we are all home cosying up together and relaxing with a movie.
I love to "decorate" with firewood...it's so utilitarian and primal to me. The colour is perfect of birch logs for white interiors.
Best,
Michelle
Oh, it really does run up the gas bill. Ouch. Wish we had this fireplace!
lovely Paula! I really love white with natural wood!
oooh! I just love the frame around the fireplace. I also love white with natural wood. Beautiful!
Love this! Rustic but elegant!
STUNNING, I love this!
I adore this image. Clean and warm at the same time.
love that look. I have been meaning to go out and buy some birch logs all winter. Our fireplace is not in working condition:(
That IS pretty! I finally bought a screen and the tools for the fireplace last month. I've lived in my house for almost 3 years, and still haven't used it once! Today would be a perfect day to light it up. We're having a snowstorm here in Chicago. Brr...
Oh yeah, we have gas fireplace too, but it adds up quick! Love this idea, very chic!!!
A fireplace is so cozy though. I love it when on - but can understand the gas bill pain.
I love a fireplace with a fire or without. There is something homey about them. The wood piled inside looks neat. xo
What a great idea!
I love the look of the wood piled in the fireplace! It really adds warmth to the neutral space!
and i love the repeating pattern. very rustic but sophisticated at the same time
This is so pretty! I would do the same if I had a fireplace.
Oh my goodness, Paula! I was just commenting on some photos over at Bliss, saying that stacked wood in white fireplaces is one of my all time favorite things! So beautiful! xo
I can hear the crackling of the wood looking at that gorgeous fireplace. love it. glad to hear yours is working. I love to warm up my bedroom before bed with a good fire, sadly though, mine is gas.

Hi, I left an award for you on my blog.
You probably won't believe me, but I woke up thinking about doing this to ours. Yes, I wake up thinking design/house junk, doesn't everybody?! :)
I'm just not 100% sure yet...so I was very happy to see this post!
I like it with the wood! - and yes, it ain't cheap to keep it running. But it feels so cozy you almost can't help yourself.
where did you find your blog layout? love it!

Love this idea! I totally want to do it - it'd be a lovely way to dry wood during the summer(and keep the cats out from trying to climb up and out the chimney...)
I tried this... it was fun.... it didn't look quite as prety as this but i loved it!!! Show us pic if you do it!
either way, i love a fireplace!
