Getting Organized

Our "office" is also part of our keeping room right off the kitchen. I love the location, but with all our photography paperwork, bills, Ellie's new school paperwork, and being the place I blog from it is becoming one huge mess. Well, in order to contain all the necessary clutter I am thinking a bookcase is in order which will replace this side table that will then move into KJ's big boy room. I like the simple lines (and price tag) of this one from Ikea...

I then hope to get organized in a few of these lovely binders from Russell+Hazel...

I already own one of these clear file sorters but another may be in order. I love how simply changing the folders can change the whole look.

Over the desk I want to cover a huge bulletin board in some simple linen to hang photos of clients that we love, calendars, and other inspiration that comes along my way. Think Erika's office board of Urban Grace. A few plants will done the top of the shelf along with the same lamp although it now has a different shade.

I hope a few of these simple changes will get this mess in order. We are making an Atlanta trip to Ikea on Friday so hopefully this task will be done sooner than later.

I am so glad there is something interesting to read when my boys wake up at 5!! These are great ideas, and I especially love those binders with bands around them. Perfect! don't we all stuff our binders to overflowing? Have fun in Atl!

I like these ideas-- we are in the process of tackling the monster that is our filing system right now--good ideas. Ikea also makes these awesome brown mini cabinets-- I saw them on Eddie' Ross's blog, where he uses them for storing flatware in his butler's pantry-- they are really cheap, have four deep drawers that are the size of most envelopes, and are cute painted or unpainted. I am driving to Charlotte to Ikea to get some more!

Nothing like a few changes to help with all of the "stuff" that collects in a home office. Mine is always a disaster! Can't go wrong with the Expedit - so inexpensive and versatile.

My office/creative space gets cluttered easily. The bookcase is great. I really love the binders and the clear file sorters. It sounds like you will have the prettiest office.

I need an office overhaul in my house. It's my catch-all room and it's a wreck.

I may need a frame from Ikea--- I'll email you.

Oh Thank you Paula, I love those binders and I just went over and ordered 2 in Gold. I needed a new binder for my Worship lead sheets. The one I have my Dad gave me like 17 years ago and it has finally fallen apart but I couldn't find something as special to replace it with. Your office will look great!

I love organizing :). If I had a labeled bin for every item in my house, I'd be happy. And I realize that sounds crazy.

I made a board like Erika's, and it is hanging in my office. I love it! Used off white linen, and nailheads.Very easy to do!
