The Donnely House

This Is where Kellen and I got married 6 years ago. It seems it is now in foreclosure and if I had an extra $950,000 plus some to make an actual kitchen and furnish the place I would so want to buy it. I could imagine both Ellie and KJ getting married in the same place we did, wouldn't that be a dream. The previous owner rented it out for events and was rather a pain to work with but this place exuded southern charm.

That place is gorgeous.
...but feel assured that you can probably at least buy a house for like $200-300K. You'd probably need like $900K to buy a HOUSE (instead of a teensy condo) here in SF...it sucks!

Oh my goodness, I love this place! I wish we had houses that look like that down here.

Donnelly house looks amazing. I really like the tiles in the bathroom. As an expat living in the U.K. I'm struck by how much space there is in America. Homes, roads, sidewalks, schools, stores, cars you name it there is just lots of room to breath. I miss that about living in the U.S. and truth be told I never noticed all that space until I moved to a sweet but tiny island:)

My future business will be a place like this off the water on the East Coast where we can hold weddings and conferences. I would do the marketing/photography/sales & and hubby does the event/food & beverage planning. Lovely place. I know that you and your hubby would do wonders with this place. It may be the beginning a lovely new venture.

One more thing: the place where we married was abandoned and left to rot. I was so shocked to see it in that condition.

I used to live in the condos across the street from the Donnely House! Hope someone buys it and takes good care of it. And I agree - the former owner was definitely a pain! (To put it nicely.)

We had our wedding reception in a similar house. It was really special to have a huge old house for the day. I was a little nervous my guests would be a little put-off by the unique location, but everyone got it!

The house we used was owned by the county's historical society. Maybe some similar organization can take the house over.

What a pretty place. A little $$ adn TLC could take that place to WOW. Hope the new owners will do just that. BTW - Ellie's circus b'day party was just the cutest thing I've seen!

I had my wedding reception here over 12 years ago! So sad to see it in foreclosure. We had a morning wedding and then reception with mimosas, brunchy fare and a jazz band. It was a very magical day. Thanks for posting it! It brought back tons of memories for me.

That would be a dream! What a beautiful place. Hopefully whoever buys it will do the same as the old owners except maybe be a little more easy going :) Thanks for sharing this story.

Looks like a beautiful place to have a wedding. I adore all the paneling and tile - I would love to see what this place looks like after someone purchases it and brings it a little bit more up to date!
