Refining Style

Since I have begun my new journey on living a life of simplicity, I have also begun refining my style. At times I feel all over the place and I am trying hard not to waste and buy smartly. I want pieces and a home that we can grow with and me not tire of in a few sort months or even years. After much evaluation I think I came down to what I am when concerning my home. I think designer Kristen Panitch nailed me right on the head with her gorgeous designs. Her spaces look easy to live in, welcoming, traditional, with a bit of boho here and there. The textures, patterns. and the layering of all her spaces feel like home to me. This is the direction I am slowly going in. I can't wait to share my home soon!

Her goal for every space they design speaks volumes to me... to create homes that will reflect and evolve with our clients’ lifestyle, tastes, passions, and dreams... That is so what I want and am striving towards.

I can't wait to see it! I must say though that first image was so pretty, but too many coffee tables in my eyes...visually overwhelming!

If anyone needs me, I'll be in that bathtub:)

Comfy and cozy images. I could just fall asleep right now on the couch in that first image and then wake up and take a long bath in that gorgeous bathroom. Loving the window treatments there... Have a great weekend.

I asbolutely LOVE these spaces- all so chic but still warm as you said- that bathroom with the vintage vanity and marble bathtub is beyond gorgeous. Thanks for sharing and I can't wait to see more photos of your home- I'm sure it is equally lovely!!

Paula, this collection of images is spectacular, and I think you named it perfectly: cozy, "lived-in", traditional but bohemian. Very, very beautiful and inspiring!

You have reminded me again to slow down and decorate with what is meaningful rather than what is on sale! Very excited to see the evolution of your home.

They are beautiful designs, I am really drawn towards the first image. It is child friendly yet still elegant, and I am a sucker for framed childrens art work.

Have a wonderful weekend with the family Paula!! xo

I love each one of these spaces. They each feel as though a real person lives in them and just stepped out of the camera's view for a moment. Chic and beautiful.

I am super pumped up over her portfolio. It is making me want to get back on the decorating my home band wagon. She knows how to mix prints and patterns comfortably.

Have a great weekend!

I've been HUGELY inspired by Kristen's work for awhile now. I want to be able create sophisticated yet comfortable spaces like that. It really does make me feel happy when I see her work. I can't wait to see how you translate this for yourself (in your already fantastic home). It's something I'm SLOWLY working on in my own home as well.

I always feel I have a hard time deciding what is really "me" and for the long haul. It has def something I'm evolving into. Not one particular style to describe myself but a mixture. Love these images -very you! I love the first room. Dinosaurs and all. Pretty, inviting, interesting and lived in. The perfect combination, for sure!

Paula- What a beautiful home! The black and white wallpaper in the stairway is my favorite!

I am jealous of all you living in the South as Eddie Ross is looking for Southern rooms to make over for Southern Living Magazine! Tell your neighbors - I just put up a post on it at APPLESandRUBIES

All these spaces are so great. They look beautiful, but also like someone really lives in these spaces and enjoys the moments. I love that first pic with that great cluster of art on the walls and the IKEA jars filled with art supplies. Oh those mismatched pillows are fabulous too!

I always love seeing pictures from your home so I am looking forward to that!

I am already on the path of surrounding myself with ONLY things that I love and things with (somewhat) lasting quality. (Maybe it is an age thing! Ha!). But I feel I need to lighten up a little and be more playful also with my home. I think more colors are on the way into my Swedish home. What a concept!

Love Kristen's style.

Happy new week to you my friend.

I LOVE the bunk beds.
Did you build those yourself?
Is the rest of that room an area for your kids to play?
How big is the rest of the room?

Thanks for sharing!

Paula, I just stumbled on her portfolio last night and was blown away. Her interiors spoke 'volumes' to me as well. I then found your post and I can relate to everything you're saying here. I plan on posting images from her portfolio today....I can't stop looking at them...so gorgeous!
