Shopping Hiatus: 3 weeks down

I am three weeks in and had a slight snafu, but have been going strong since. The oddest thing though, I am feeling quite uninspired. Not quite sure what it is, but still feeling it none the less. One good thing though is that when I wake up I know I am not going to make a frivolousness purchase. I know I am saving money too, a good thing since insurance did not cover all of my son's breathing treatments from a few months back. I love to shop, but I also love not having the need to shop. Hopefully soon I will be inspired and be out of this slight funk.

Last night we did take the kiddos to the dollar theater to see Madagascar. We figured if they are not ready to sit through a whole movie then we would only be out four dollars. We had a blast.

I am impressed...I didn't commit 100% to the hiatus- but have been trying to cut back on my spending!

Its so hard to not buy anything even though you really want to, it gets easier, but your doing good! Madagascar was cute.

The dollar theater with kids is a great idea! The thought of spending all that money at the movies only to have a 2 year old squirm in my lap does not sound appealing... but $4 I can do.

Lovely photo! I really am quite impressed with you spending hiatus. I have self control until the day I get my paycheck and that I always find myself buying that one thing I just feel I really need (and don't!) like expensive lip balm. Sorry you are in a funk--I am sure you will be inspired again soon enough:)

Bravo you! I really like Blueprint Bliss's idea of trying to cut back but not giving up the spending altogether!

You can do it! Are you still doing lots of online browsing? I find that browsing without shopping is actually more inspiring than buying anything.

Watching my spending too and I know what you mean about feeling less inspired, but your evening sounds lovely. I haven't seen a movie in a real theater for $1 in ages... Love that it even exists! :)

I never thought about the whole movie thing with the little ones. When I am ready to have some of my own I will definitely consider the $4.00 movies if they are still around. :)

Where are the dollar movies at? I need to do the shopping hiatus, so badly we need a budget and the guts to stick to it.... since we've recently moved I find myself trying to decorate and organize which all cost too much... I'm so not creative or thrifty....Sorry I'm in a slump today...too so this to shall pass...
