pre.shopping hiatus

So I just purchase the Micheal Kors purse on the left at T.J. Maxx. It was at a huge discount, but still on the pricey side. On the right is my current purse from Dooney & Burke. I soon noticed they are some what similar, which only adds to my current uniform. My question is, should I keep them both, take the Kors one back, or sell my current purse to justify the new splurge? What would you do lovely readers? I am truly at a loss. Oh, and hubby if you happen to read this just ignore it please. I am having a moment of weakness that is not so very flattering.

Oh Paula they are so alike how do they feel on? They are both great but only you know which one fits you better! I need a new one don't tell my hubby! The one he bought me Ilove but its killing my shoulder!

Tough decision. I like the Micheal Kors better (if that helps).

Props to you for being able to have a white purse and not get it dirty! Since you are blessed with that skill I agree with Gillian sell D&B keep Kors!

I agree with Martha...sleep on it...if I still like something the next day, or even a week later, then I know I really will use it. I do like the Michael Kors one myself.

i like the mk better for the detail which is more interesting.

I think you should sell the D&B and keep the Kors. The fact that you purchased it without really realizing that it looks remarkably like the one you already have says that you've stopped looking at the D&B. It's time to pass it on to someone else who will LOVE it!

I've been in the exact place you are! I couldn't decide what to do, so I decided to take the more simple bag and customize it a little more...add a ribbon or a charm in a vibrant color...it will further define which outfits you wear it with. This would work perfect with the simple Dooney bag :) Hope this helps, Paula~

I may have given different advice if you hadn't added that couple lines. If you want your husband to ignore this and you feel like having bought both bags is not flattering...you are having a gut check. no bag is worth feeling yucky afterwards.

i love them both but they are really similar. will you feel that different carrying one then the other. The B&B still looks so new so you must have loved it pretty recently. I'd stick with it 'til you need a new bag or ready for a new look all together.

Listen to your gut and keep the one you love the most. (I know which one it is!)

Okay, as a bagaholic, I may not be the perfect person to answer this question...but I would say keep the MK for sure! The MK bag is slightly more casual (with the buckles) and can add a lot of texture to any simple day outfit. The Dooney bag is more refined and can be used for more dressed up situations. White is such a great color and these bags are so perfect for spring/summer!

I like your old bag better friend. More simple. Seems you! Classic beauty. XO.

Lol oh this is definitely a hard decision. I like them both. I like white bags but I do have to say I like the buckles on the Michael Kors one....

I hope it all works out!

Oh, you are funny. Your post made me giggle bc I totally understand your dilemma... I've been there so many times myself. I say keep the new one and sell the old one. That way you are kind of justified and still get a spiffy, new bag.

do love the details on the MK, so sell the D & B.

I am may not be the best for advice here, as I am not swooned by purses... so I would say keep the one you have and take the other back. If you're needing a purse "fix," then I'd go with one that's completely different!

oh, I am not one to ask such questions... i am a confessed bag addict. {one full closet dedicated to bags}
I love them both and if you kept both, they would last longer with change outs and protection and rest between wearing.
{see told you I am not good and such questions}

I'm going to be a bad influence and say keep them both... What if you spill something dark and one gets ruined? At least then you'll have a backup.

But I guess it depends how much you think you'll get for your current purse. If it's significant, then maybe. But if not, then you might as well keep it.

I would keep them both, make it up by selling some of your cute childrens clothes ;)
The thing about TJ Max is that sometimes you find something great and other times they have nothing, so when you find something I always buy it, because otherwise the next time you go in it may not be there to have second thoughts about.
Plus.. its always good to have a back up of a regular purse incase something happens to your main one, or you get tired of it.

I say keep the one you have and take the new back... put the cash in a safe spot for when another purse crosses your path that you love. BOTH are just gorgeous, but for me, why bring home something you pretty much already have. (easier said than done! For me at least!)

Can I have it both? :)

They are both cute but I like the Dooney :)

the MK is trendy and will not age well, the D&B is clean simple and beautiful. Take the MK back

I think that they are both classic and will last forever. If forced to choose, I would go with the DB:)
