Being Honest

I am completely humiliated to admit that I do not have a blog post today due to my recent and embarrassing need to read this saga. I was the girl who said I would never even pick one up. Well that all changed when all of my girlfriends were going to see New Moon. Although the movie was somewhat cheesy I had to find out what happened next. Then soon after I lost interest again. Fast forward to a few nights ago and hubby went out and I was bored out of mind and I happened to have my sisters copy of Eclipse sitting on the bookshelf. Well, let's just say it's been hard to put down and now I have to head to the book store to find out the ending. Yes, I am Paula and am completely addicted to the saga.

Look now I even have a blog post, well, sort of. Have a great weekend. I will be reading.

Once again we are blogging about the same topic..reading! I still haven't read the vampire series..maybe it will be next! I am caught up in the girl with the Dragon
Tattoo.

you are too funny! I have resisted so far ... we'll see how long I can hold out.

it happened to me too, I said I'd never watch the movie, but then I saw the first one and I was hooked. ;) have you seen the movies? do you think I should read the books after watching the movie?

The only reason I haven't picked one up is because I so do not have time to get sucked into a series! Enjoy your reading!

They're incredibly addictive! I fell under their spell, too. All I wanted to do was read them and as fast as I could,(about 3 weeks total!)
Welcome, Paula.

I will stand up as an addict with you. I blew through all four books last winter/spring!

ha ha! been there, done that - i lost WHOLE weekends reading those books! ;)

I too have read all of these and was obsessed until I finished it! Nothing got done, laundry in piles, dishes ect..... That series can do that to you! I have to say though that the movies were really not that good. Have you seen them?

Have fun reading and stop by my blog for my So Chic, Elle Decor book giveaway!

don't make excuses- just embrace it! I was the same way with that and once I started reading i could not stop. It was a little depressing when the books were over.

I have been into it on and off. My interest picks back up when a new movie comes out then I see the movie and it dies down.

I can completely relate. I read the first one for my book club as a fun summer read, and then I read the next 3 books in about 2 weeks. My husband made fun of me the entire time, because I was acting like a 15 year old girl (i.e., pass me a note tomorrow in geometry to let me know what happens in the next chapter). I just got completely sucked in. Enjoy!

I was the same way! Then I ate my words when I got to the end of Breaking Dawn and started the saga again immediately. It's addictive.

oh honey - been there, read that. and i too had a "coming clean" party on my blog one day. it seriously sucks you in for however long it takes you to read it. dont feel ashamed. it conquers even the strongest among us :)

No need to be ashamed! You are not alone :-)

haha, oh Paula. I love your bashful honestly, too cute. Happy weekend

Like many others, I totally resisted the series, thinking it was just for teens. My sister absolutely insisted I read Twilight over Thanksgiving and well....I was hooked! I think I finished the series in a matter of a few weeks. Enjoy it, there's plenty of us in the same boat!

Oh I know what you mean! I resisted for the longest time, but after my sister started devouring it I needed to read it. I ate up all 4 books rather quickly. While the movies are not the greatest I still love them!

Enjoy!

Oh, that's funny! I see you've come to the dark side :)...I know, I know I had the same attitude when I read the books last year, but I just couldn't put them down. I guess it's huge props to the author for being an excellent story teller!

Glad to have you on board. I started and finished all four books in a week. Needless to say, I wasn't the best mom or wife that week due to lots of sleepless nights. Enjoy the end, it's FANTASTIC... This is a great picture of the cast.

OMG i totally did the same thing at thanksgiving....i stayed up all night reading those silly teenage books!! but it was soooooo good!

Don't feel bad. We've all been there, done that!

And P.S. - I LOVED every minute of it!

i'll admit i am another one who would swear up and down to never read that, and then i did, and well, i read all of them in like a week or two.. oops!

Kathy Posey said...

NOOO!!! Paula!!!! Don't do it! I read them all and it was hours of my life I could never get back! I tried to understand "why the obsession" and I am more confused by the hype than before. The last one is TERRIBLE. (sigh) I guess I'm glad you enjoy them. I always say "to each their own."

Alisa: a pina colada said...

I gave in too. They're just fun....you don't learn much, and it is geared toward a younger audience, but darn it... They are just fun! It is fun to totally get-into something you never thought you would....I mean Vampires? Really? But I loved it! Enjoy the saga! :)

Embrace it :) We have to have some vices don't we?

Best,
Michelle
