Yesterday I had high hopes of taking the kiddos to the zoo. When we arrived there wasn't any parking spots. Yes, you heard me right. It was insane. So in my frantic desire to do something fun with the kiddos without going mad I went to the Botanical Gardens a street away. They ran and explored. We had a blast. I visited the shop Leaf n Petal while there and fell head over heels for the decoupaged wallpaper. The colors were quite gorgeous to say the least. Such an inspiring day it ended up being. Today we are getting up a bit earlier and trying for the zoo once again. Fingers crossed.

I absolutely LOVE the Birmingham Botanical Gardens! The trails are like a maze that I enjoy getting lost in. What a fun place for kids to explore. I used to love going to gardens when I was little and pretend I was Mary from the Secret Garden or Alice from Alice in Wonderland!

Aren't the warm weather and spring blooms good for the soul? I am so ready to welcome spring with open arms after the long, cold winter. Love the photos you took - hopefully the crowds clear at the zoo so you can enjoy a day there as well. :)

These photos are absolutely gorgeous. What could be better than a spring day at the Botanical Gardens? We used to go to the NY Botanical Gardens quite often...and only maybe once a year to the Bronx Zoo right across the street. Looks like a lovely gift shop too!

The placement of everything on the shelf, the colors, I think a special taste, the truth is that I like to visit and buy some of the products displayed.
